📅 Open your calender app, pull out your pen: Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg will take place from 4 to 9 June.
🌤️ This year’s motto is: CLOUDY. We are focusing on uncertainties, transition, heavy (societal) weather conditions as well as the blue sky behind it.
⫸ And as the clouds in the sky take on a certain shape, so does the program for our 40th edition: We will tackle the big topics as well as the allegedly ordinary ones. Under the theme of SOLIDARITY, five programs reflect a wide variety of societal struggles – from intercultural conflicts and queer struggles to feminist achievements. Our second focus, CLEANING UP, explores order and chaos in two programs, finding a new perspective on this everyday activity. Thirdly, from Hamburg’s Reeperbahn, we take a look at SEX WORK worldwide.
▧ For our on-site exhibition, we invite you to “Fragile Traces: Archives in Conflict” by curator Larissa-Diana Fuhrmann, Maike Mia Höhne and Qutouf Elobaid from the Sudanese all-female artist collective Locale. It will give us rare, artistic insights into the current state of Sudan. In cooperation with Goethe Institut im Exil and Goethe Institut Sudan.
